Nkota Rejoins Pirates On Loan
Mohau Nkota has rejoined Orlando Pirates on a season-long loan from Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq.
Nkota departed Pirates for Saudi Arabia ahead of last season, but his time in the Middle East was hampered by recurring injuries.
The 21-year-old missed Al Ettifaq’s final three matches of the campaign due to a foot injury, a setback that ultimately cost him a spot in South Africa’s World Cup squad. He made 22 appearances across all competitions during his single season in Saudi Arabia, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
The Kimberley-born attacker previously enjoyed a standout breakout campaign with the Buccaneers’ senior team during the 2024/25 season. He featured in 39 official matches, registering 12 goal contributions after earning a promotion from the club’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) reserve side.
Nkota made his senior debut on 19 October 2024 in a Carling Knockout Cup clash against Magesi FC, coming off the bench at halftime to replace Monnapule Saleng. From that point on, he established himself as a regular starter under former head coach José Riveiro.
