Nsingizini Hotspurs Edge Brave Ulundi United In Dramatic Legacy Cup Final Shootout

Nsingizini Hotspurs have been crowned the 2026 Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup champions after overcoming a resilient Ulundi United at the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Stadium on Saturday.
Following a hard-fought 1-1 draw in regulation time, the pre-season clash skipped extra time and went straight to a penalty shootout. The Eswatini powerhouse held their nerves to secure a 5-4 victory on penalties, lifting the trophy for the first time in their history.
Nsingizini booked their place in the showcase match earlier in the day by defeating their cross-border rivals, Mbabane Highlanders, in another tense semi-final shootout.
Ulundi United, a SAFA KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League amateur outfit, had earned their spot in the final after pulling off a massive upset by dumping Betway Premiership heavyweights AmaZulu FC out with a 2-0 victory.
By capturing the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup, Nsingizini add to the historic domestic treble they claimed last season in Eswatini under the guidance of former Orlando Pirates development coach Mandla Qogi.
The club was technically the co-defending champions entering the day. Heavy rainfall forced the abandonment of the previous edition’s final against AmaZulu, meaning this shootout finally gives them outright ownership of the crown.
