Nurkovic Joins SuperSport

SuperSport United have confirmed the signing of striker Samir Nurković.
Nurković was a free agent after leaving TS Galaxy at the start of the season due to disagreements with former coach Sead Ramovic.
In joining SuperSport, Nurković reunites with his former coach Gavin Hunt, who worked with the burly striker at Kaizer Chiefs in the 2020/21 season.
Hunt has been seeking a striker to fill the void left by the injured veteran, Bradley Grobler, who is out for most of the season.
“Matsatsantsa SuperSport United FC is pleased to announce the signature of Serbian striker Samir Nurković on a one-and-a-half-year deal,” said the club on Friday.
“Nurković, previously with Kaizer Chiefs, Royal AM, and recently with TS Galaxy, has scored over 30 goals in his five-year stay in the country and will be looking forward to increasing his goal tally during his Matsatsantsa stay.
The 32-year-old will make his debut in the January transfer window, pending the issuance of his work permit.
SuperSport CEO Stanley Matthews commented on the club’s new acquisition: “Samir is a proven number 9 target man with a good track record and who will fit in well with our style of play, which looks to get crosses in from wide areas and to capitalize on set pieces,“ said Matthews.
Nurković added: “I am so happy and grateful to be at a wonderful and amazing club like SuperSport United FC. I am very much looking forward to my first training session at the club, meeting my new teammates, and getting to work.”
