Sekhukhune United has bolstered their midfield options with the deadline-day signing of Sipho Mbule on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 26-year-old midfielder arrives after struggling to rediscover the tenacious form that once defined his early career. 

Mbule’s stint at Sundowns has been underwhelming, with the player making only 51 appearances since his controversial exit from SuperSport United in 2022.

During his time at Sundowns, he managed just three goals and a solitary assist, a stark contrast to his more productive spell at SuperSport, where he played 119 games. 

His departure from SuperSport followed a failed disciplinary hearing, which led to his move to their fierce rivals. Despite the high expectations, Mbule has found it difficult to make a lasting impact at Sundowns.
