Pirates Confirms Departure Of Pule

Orlando Pirates has announced the departure of midfielder Vincent Pule ahead of the upcoming season.
Pule, who joined the Buccaneers in 2018 from Bidvest Wits, battled injuries throughout the last campaign and faced stiff competition on the left wing, particularly after the arrival of Monnapule Saleng in the 2022/23 season.
The 32-year-old managed just 11 appearances and one assist last term, making his place in the squad increasingly uncertain.
“After six successful years, Vincent Pule is leaving Orlando Pirates Football Club,” the club said in a statement.
“Pule arrived in 2018 from Bidvest Wits and quickly established himself as a valuable player for the Mighty Buccaneers. He made over 146 appearances and contributed to 35 goals (through goals and assists) during his time with the club, leaving a lasting mark on the Soweto giants.”
“On behalf of the entire Orlando Pirates family, we would like to thank Vincent for his dedication and contributions. He has been a phenomenal player on the field, delivering incredible moments, while also demonstrating exemplary professionalism off it.”
Pule departs the club with a trophy cabinet boasting three MTN8s and two Nedbank Cups earned during his time with the Soweto giants. He won the PSL Goal of the Season award in the 2018/19 season with his blinding strike against Polokwane City at Orlando Stadium in the last game of that term.
