Pirates Dominates Betway Prem Nov/Dec Awards
The Premier Soccer League has announced the winners of the coach, player, and goal of the month for November and December in the Betway Premiership, with Orlando Pirates emerging as the dominant force.
Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou of the Buccaneers was named Coach of the Month, following his impressive performance in guiding the team to four victories and one draw in five games.
Under Ouaddou’s leadership, Pirates has maintained their top spot in the Betway Premiership with 28 points in 12 games, heading into the AFCON and Christmas break on a high note.
This marks Ouaddou’s second consecutive award, having also won the Coach of the Month award last month for his outstanding work with the Buccaneers.
TS Galaxy’s winger Puso Dithejane took home the Player of the Month award, beating out Oswin Appollis of Pirates and Athini Maqokolo of AmaZulu.
Dithejane’s impressive form, which included one goal and two assists, earned him recognition as one of the best players in the league.
Although he was included in coach Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana preliminary squad for AFCON, Dithejane unfortunately failed to make the final cut.
The Goal of the Month award went to Pirates’ youngster Cemran Dansin, who scored a stunning goal from outside the box against Mamelodi Sundowns in their 1-1 draw on 1 November at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Dansin’s goal, which left Bafana captain Ronwen Williams with no chance of saving, was a highlight of the month and a testament to the young player’s skill and talent.
