PSL Giants Avoid Each Other In Carling Knockout Cup Draw
Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Kaizer Chiefs have been kept apart in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 draw, which was conducted on Monday.
Key Fixtures
- Mamelodi Sundowns, who lost to Magesi in the final last season, will host Marumo Gallants.
- Orlando Pirates, who were eliminated in the first round last season by Magesi, will face struggling Siwelele FC at home. Siwelele’s representatives were not even present for the draw as the team was on a bus to their next match.
- Kaizer Chiefs, who last won this cup in the 2010/11 season, will travel to play against 2023/24 winners, Stellenbosch.
- Newly promoted side Durban City will host Polokwane City.
- Golden Arrows will host the current Betway Premiership leaders, Sekhukhune United.
- Another newly promoted side, Orbit College, will host TS Galaxy, who were runners-up to Stellenbosch in the 2023/24 final.
The competition, which features all 16 Premier Division clubs, is set to begin on 4 October.
