Royal AM Claim Record Fourth KZN Premier’s Cup

Royal AM have once again claimed the KZN Premier’s Cup title, defeating Maritzburg United in a penalty shootout at Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Regional Stadium on Sunday.
After a goalless draw in regulation time, John Maduka’s side triumphed 4-3 in the penalty shootout. This victory marks Royal AM’s fourth KZN Premier’s Cup title, having previously won in 2016, 2017 (as Royal Eagles), and 2022.

The club showcased their dominance in the competition, having cruised past AmaZulu 3-0 in the semifinals and overcome Milford FC in a penalty shootout in the earlier rounds.
This tournament success provides a solid foundation for coach Maduka as he prepares the team for the upcoming season. However, Royal AM’s FIFA-imposed transfer ban means they will have to rely heavily on players from this team as many of them are from the DStv Diski Challenge.
