Renowned football agent Jazzman Mhlakgane has confirmed upcoming showdown talks with Mamelodi Sundowns regarding the future of midfielder Sammy Seabi.

The 29-year-old joined Sundowns from Polokwane City in the 2019/20 season under coach Pitso Mosimane, who immediately integrated him to familiarize him with the club culture. However, Seabi has struggled to secure a regular spot, resulting in five loan spells to Moroka Swallows, Chippa United (three times), and Sekhukhune United.

Despite Sundowns’ involvement in six competitions last season, including the inaugural African Football League, Seabi managed only 43 minutes across three league matches. The club also clinched their seventh consecutive DStv Premiership title.

“We haven’t heard from anything Sundowns yet,” stated Mahlakgane, who successfully negotiated a contract extension for his client, Themba Zwane, at the club. “We’re in talks. I was scheduled to meet with Flemming Berg (Sundowns sporting director) a few weeks ago, but I had to postpone due to travel commitments.”

Since joining Sundowns, Seabi has won two league titles, the Carling Knockout Cup, the Nedbank Cup, and the African Football League. However, his limited playing time of just eight matches across all competitions has hindered his contribution to these successes.
