Seema To Decide On Ex-Spurs Striker’s Siwelele Future

Newly appointed Siwelele coach Lehlohonolo Seema will now make the final decision on whether the club will sign striker Therlo Moosa.
The club had been waiting to appoint a new coach before finalizing Moosa’s potential signing, a decision now in the hands of Seema, who was appointed on Sunday.
Seema, a former Bloemfontein Celtic player, takes the helm of Siwelele following its rebranding. The club’s status was recently acquired by Gayton Mckenzie’s son, Calvyn Le’John, from SuperSport United a few weeks ago.
Moosa’s Trial and Impressive Performance
When the club was still known as SuperSport United, Andre Arendse served as caretaker coach, successfully saving them from the relegation zone last season.
During this period of uncertainty regarding the club’s ownership and coaching staff, a decision on Moosa couldn’t be made. However, with Seema now in charge, the former Orlando Pirates defender will assess Moosa, who has been training with the club for some time.
Sportswire has learned that Moosa has impressed the club during his extended training period, even scoring in a friendly match for Siwelele. Furthermore, he’s considered a more budget-friendly option compared to other players.
Moosa’s Experience and Potential Role
The 31-year-old forward recently experienced relegation to the ABC Motsepe Regional League while playing for Cape Town Spurs last season, where he spent three seasons.
Siwelele is actively seeking a new center-forward following Bradley Grobler’s departure to Sekhukhune United after his contract expired.
Moosa could be a strong candidate, bringing a wealth of experience. During his tenure with Spurs, he was instrumental in their promotion to the Betway Premiership in the 2022/23 season via the PSL playoffs.
Unfortunately, the Mother City club’s stay in the top division lasted only one season, as they were relegated at the end of the 2023/24 campaign and then to the ABC Motsepe Regional League last term.
The Mitchells Plain-born striker, who has also played for prominent clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns, featured in 35 matches across all competitions for Spurs, netting 11 goals.
