Siwelele Land Major Coup
Siwelele have completed the signing of experienced forward Jaisen Clifford on a free transfer following his departure from Marumo Gallants, Sportswire has learned.
The 30-year-old became a free agent at the end of June after opting not to renew his one-year contract with Gallants. His spell at Bahlabane Ba Ntwa marked his return to South African football after spending almost a decade playing abroad.
Clifford enjoyed a solid 2025/26 campaign, making 22 Betway Premiership appearances and scoring four goals as he established himself as one of Gallants’ key attacking players.
Those goals came in just 614 minutes, with a 77% successful dribble rate in the 2025/26 campaign
His performances throughout the season attracted interest from Siwelele, with Sportswire previously revealing that the club had entered advanced negotiations to secure his signature.
The experienced attacker has been training under head coach Lehlohonolo Seema in recent weeks, and the deal has now been finalised.
Clifford arrives as part of Siwelele’s rebuilding process ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season, with the club looking to strengthen their squad after an inconsistent first campaign following the acquisition of SuperSport United’s PSL status.
The experienced forward is expected to add quality, depth and leadership to the attack as Siwelele aim for a much-improved league campaign.
Although Siwelele are yet to officially unveil their new signings, they have already confirmed the departure of 23 players as preparations for the new season under Seema continue.
