Solomons Laments Chiefs’ Lack of Goals

Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons has expressed his disappointment with the team’s meager goal output in 2024, acknowledging it falls short of the supporters’ expectations.
“Obviously, scoring only three goals this year is not good enough,” Solomons admitted. “Like everyone else, I would love to see us score more.”
The former Royal AM player highlighted the team’s struggles, which extend beyond goalscoring. “Unfortunately, things aren’t happening for us at the moment,” he said.
Chiefs’ woes include a first-round Nedbank Cup exit to lower league opposition Milford FC and a concerning run in the DStv Premiership. They haven’t scored in their last four league matches, losing the last three and dropping out of the top eight to 10th place with a mere 30 points from 24 games. Their most recent defeat came against relegation-threatened Richards Bay.
“We can’t just blame the strikers,” Solomons emphasized. “Set pieces and other situations in the game present opportunities for different players to contribute goals. It’s a team effort. We need to come together and find solutions to score more.”
Chiefs will hope to turn things around when they host SuperSport United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday (17:30).
