Spain Great Iniesta Retires From Football

Former Barcelona and Spain international midfielder Andrés Iniesta has announced his retirement after a 22-year career at the highest level of football, in a tearful video on Monday.
In a video posted on his X page, he revealed that his retirement would be effective on 8 October, which is on Tuesday.
Iniesta is best known for his role in Spain’s 2010 FIFA World Cup victory, scoring the winning goal in extra time against the Netherlands at FNB Stadium.
Prior to that, he helped Spain win the UEFA European Championship in 2008 and 2012.
During his illustrious career at Barcelona, Iniesta was part of a legendary midfield trio with Xavi Hernández, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi. Under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, this midfield combination was renowned for their elegant and effective style of play.
Iniesta won four UEFA Champions League titles, nine La Liga titles, six Copa del Rey trophies, seven Spanish Super Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups during his time at Barcelona. He was also named UEFA Player of the Year in 2012.
Since leaving Barcelona in 2018, Iniesta has played for Vissel Kobe and Emirates Club.
