Stellenbosch Signs Nku From Sundowns

Stellenbosch has announced the permanent signing of Lesiba Nku from Mamelodi Sundowns on PSL Deadline Day, which was Tuesday.

Nku, known for his technical skill and dynamic attacking style, joins Stellies to strengthen their attack and contribute to the club’s domestic and continental ambitions.

The 28-year-old brings valuable experience from playing at the highest levels of South African and CAF football with Marumo Gallants, where he played alongside current Stellenbosch FC defender Ismael Toure, and Mamelodi Sundowns, where he won both the Premiership and the African Football League titles.

“Lesiba is a player we have admired for some time, and we are excited to bring him to Stellenbosch FC.” CEO Rob Benadie said.

“His arrival underpins our commitment to strengthening the team with players of the highest calibre and I have no doubt that his quality will add a new dimension to our attacking options.”

Nku will wear the No. 7 jersey, previously worn by former captain Deano van Rooyen. He could make his debut for the club this weekend in their Betway Premiership match against Sekhukhune United.

Nku joined Sundowns at the start of last season from Marumo Gallants, winning both the league title and the African Football League. He departs the Brazilians having made 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and registering one assist.
