SuperSport United has confirmed the loan signing of Lebohang Maboe from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Maboe, who has struggled with injuries recently, will spend the next six months with SuperSport in an effort to regain his match fitness.

“SuperSport United FC is pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Lebohang Maboe from Mamelodi Sundowns (on loan) until the end of the season,” the club said in a statement.

The 30-year-old is eligible to face AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, pending the completion of all necessary paperwork.

He will also reunite with former teammate Siphesihle Ndlovu, with whom he played a key role at Maritzburg United (now Durban City).

Maboe joined Sundowns from Maritzburg ahead of the 2018/19 season and has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Sundowns this season.

In total, he has played 183 matches for the club, scoring 20 goals and providing 23 assists.

During his time at Sundowns, Maboe has won six league titles, two Nedbank Cups, one Carling Knockout, one MTN8, and the African Football League.
