Unstoppable Chiefs Stay Perfect, Buccaneers Fire Five: Full DStv Diski Challenge Matchday 6 Wrap

Kaizer Chiefs maintained their perfect start to the DStv Diski Challenge season with a 2-0 victory over Siwelele at the UJ Soweto Stadium on Sunday as Matchday Six delivered several exciting results.

Amakhosi went into the encounter looking to extend their impressive run after winning all their previous matches this season. Their latest victory ensured that they remain the only team yet to drop points in the campaign.

Following the win, coach Vela Khumalo’s side strengthened their position at the top of the standings, moving to 18 points from six matches. Chiefs now enjoy a five-point lead over their closest challengers.

Defending champions Orlando Pirates also continued their winning run with an emphatic performance against Sekhukhune United. The Buccaneers registered a convincing 5-0 victory at the UJ Soweto Stadium, handing Babina Noko their first defeat of the season.

The result saw Pirates climb from seventh to fifth place in the standings, having collected 10 points from their opening six matches.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points after playing out a 1-1 draw against Polokwane City at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

Despite failing to collect maximum points, Masandawana moved up from third to second place on the log with 13 points. They are level on points with Sekhukhune United but occupy the position ahead of Babina Noko thanks to their superior goal difference.

Elsewhere, Golden Arrows secured a 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy at Chatsworth Stadium, while Milford and Chippa United shared the spoils following a 1-1 draw at the UJ AW Muller Stadium.

AmaZulu also enjoyed an impressive outing, defeating two-time DStv Diski Challenge champions Stellenbosch FC 3-1 at Chatsworth Stadium.

Marumo Gallants, meanwhile, suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Richards Bay at the UJ AW Muller Stadium.

The final fixture of Matchday Six saw Durban City register their first victory of the season after edging Kruger United 1-0 at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
