Baroka FC Confirms Mammila’s Departure

Baroka FC has officially confirmed the departure of head coach Morgan Mammila, effective immediately.

This website was informed a few days ago that Mammila was fired, but the club appeared to distance themselves from the story.

But in Friday, Baroka announced Mammila’s departure with immediate.

“Coach Mammila has been with the club during the PSL promotion playoffs and was in charge of the first two games of our 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship season,” the club said in a statement. “We wish coach Mammila all the best in his future endeavors.”

Mammila’s tenure at Baroka was brief, lasting only two matches in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The team drew 1-1 with Orbit College in their first game but suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat in their second match.

Mammila was initially appointed as caretaker coach in June following Baroka’s draw with the University of Pretoria in their first PSL relegation and promotion playoff match. While he drew in the second game against Richards Bay, the team was defeated 4-0 by Bay in the final match, resulting in the KwaZulu-Natal club to retain its Betway Premiership status.

Mammila has a history with Baroka, having previously worked as the CEO when Baroka gained promotion to the PSL in the 2015/16 season and winning the Carling Knockout trophy in the 2018/19 season.
