Duba To Miss Soweto Derby

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi confirmed that Wandile Duba will miss the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Duba, a standout performer for Chiefs this season, will be sidelined for six weeks, according to his coach.

The 20-year-old, who can play as a central striker or winger, is Chiefs’ joint-top scorer in the league this season with four goals in 14 matches.

He was substituted in the 45th minute of Chiefs’ Nedbank Cup round of 32 victory over Free Agents at FNB Stadium last weekend, replaced by Ranga Chivaviro.

“Duba will be out for six weeks,” Nabi said briefly at Thursday’s press conference.

Since his promotion to the first team during the 2022/23 season under coach Arthur Zwane, Duba has scored five goals and provided three assists in 31 appearances.
