Seema Sacked By Sekhukhune Yet Again

Sekhukhune United have confirmed the departure of coach Lehlohonolo Seema, a move that had been widely anticipated.

Seema’s position was precarious, and he was reportedly facing dismissal if the club had lost to Chippa United a few weeks ago. However, Sekhukhune’s victory secured his temporary reprieve.

Following a 2-1 defeat to Richards Bay at King Zwelithini Stadium in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday, the inevitable occurred, and that match proved to be his last with the club. In the meantime, Sekhukhune has confirmed that Kaitano Tembo and Paulus Masehe will lead the club.

Rumors suggest that Eric Tinkler, who was dismissed by Cape Town City in December of last year, is being considered as Seema’s replacement.

Seema’s dismissal is somewhat surprising, considering the club’s current fourth-place position in the Betway Premiership table, with 31 points from 20 matches. The loss to Richards Bay resulted in them dropping one spot, with Stellenbosch now occupying third place.

Seema, who has previously coached Golden Arrows and Chippa United, was in his second stint with Sekhukhune, having been reappointed at the start of this season.

He was also at the club last season, but departed with four games remaining. Despite his departure, the team maintained their position and qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup.
