Petersen’s Call For Calm After Back-to-Back Losses

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has called on his teammates to remain calm and composed after suffering back-to-back losses in the Betway Premiership and CAF Confederation Cup.
The Phefeni Glamour Boys had a promising start to the season, winning four of their first five games and keeping five consecutive clean sheets.
However, their form took a hit with a 3-1 loss to league leaders Sekhukhune United at FNB Stadium last week, followed by a 1-0 defeat to Angolan giants Kabuscorp in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round.
Despite the setbacks, Peterson remains optimistic about the team’s abilities, particularly in defense.
“I think, obviously, for us, it’s not to panic or start to doubt ourselves,” Petersen said.
“We just need to do well, and we’ve proved that we’re capable of doing well, especially defending well and not conceding.”
Petersen emphasized the importance of introspection and learning from one’s mistakes.
“So, I think for us, it’s just to take a step back and analyze ourselves to see what went wrong, then grab an opportunity to win the next game,” he added.
The 31-year-old’s comments come ahead of the team’s crucial league match against Marumo Gallants at FNB Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
A win would help the team bounce back from their recent losses and maintain their third position in the league table, where they currently sit with 13 points after six games.
Following the league match, Chiefs will face Kabuscorp again in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round this coming weekend, to secure a victory and advance to the next stage of the competition.
