Chiefs Sees Siwelele Clash Postponed
Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that their upcoming Betway Premiership fixture against Siwelele next Wednesday has been postponed due to their commitments in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Amakhosi are currently in Ismailia, Egypt, where they will face Zamalek SC at the Suez Canal Stadium on Saturday.
Although the turnaround between the two matches appeared manageable — with Chiefs able to return to South Africa on Sunday and likely arrive on Monday — the club deemed the schedule unfeasible due to travel logistics and recovery time to play at Toyota Stadium on Wednesday.
As a result, Chiefs engaged Siwelele to request a postponement of the league match, which was scheduled to take place on 18 February at the Toyota Stadium.
In a statement, the club said: “The match between Siwelele FC and Kaizer Chiefs, originally set for 18 February 2026 at the Toyota Stadium, was postponed due to our CAF Confederation Cup schedule and related travel logistics. The PSL will advise on the new date.”
Chiefs currently sit top of Group D and require only a draw against Zamalek on Saturday to secure qualification for the knockout stages.
They are on 10 points after five matches, two ahead of Zamalek in second place. Al Masry SC, whom Chiefs defeated 2-1 last weekend, are third on seven points.
Zambian side ZESCO United, whom Chiefs have beaten home and away, are bottom of the group with three points.
