AmaZulu Technical Changes: Dias And Dladla To Leave

AmaZulu has confirmed that Director of Football Pedro Dias and assistant coach Simo Dladla will depart the club at the end of the 2025/26 season.

The decision marks a significant shift in the club’s technical direction. The club revealed that the Director of Football role will be discontinued entirely as the club moves toward a “more integrated football management structure.”

The End of the Dias Era

Dias joined the club in October 2023 with a mandate to oversee all football-related activities. However, his tenure was often characterized by a lack of public engagement; notably, he never conducted a media interview to outline his long-term strategy. Amid internal restructuring, the club has opted not to renew his contract, aiming to “reinforce a high-performance environment.”

Dladla’s Surprise Exit

The departure of assistant coach Simo Dladla comes as a shock to many in the KZN football fraternity. Dladla joined Arthur Zwane’s technical team during the most recent off-season, fresh off his success in guiding Durban City to the ABC Motsepe Championship title and Betway Premiership promotion.

Despite his short stay, the club acknowledged his “positive contribution” to the technical team. Speculation will now turn to who will fill the void at Zwane’s side for the upcoming campaign.

Zungu Extends Gratitude

In an official statement, President Sandile Zungu expressed his appreciation for the duo’s professionalism.

“Their service has been valued, and they leave with the Club’s full respect and gratitude,” Zungu stated. “The Club wishes both Mr. Dias and Mr. Dladla every success in their future professional endeavours.”
