Kaizer Chiefs Cleans Out Technical Staff

Following the departures of Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef on Tuesday, the clean-out is continuing at Naturena.
Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that conditioning coach Majdi Safi and goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi are also leaving the club.
Chiefs’ final game of the season ended in defeat to Chippa United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
The Soweto giants went into that match having already secured a third-place finish in the league, which earned them the CAF Confederation Cup qualification.
Confirming the departures of Kaze and Ben Youssef, Amakhosi added:
“Meanwhile, conditioning coach Majdi Safi has also left the club following the final game of the season and the expiry of his contract.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to the coaches for their dedication and contribution, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
“More announcements will follow over the next few weeks as we build towards the start of the new season.”
On Mzoughi’s departure, Chiefs said:
“Goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi is leaving Kaizer Chiefs as his two-year contract with the club comes to an end. Mzoughi has overseen the goalkeeping department for the past two seasons and was part of the technical team that guided the club to the Nedbank Cup triumph at the end of last season. We wish coach Mzoughi all the best for the future.”
Despite the defeat to Chippa, Kaze appeared confident that he and the rest of the technical team had done enough to remain at the club next season, although it was unclear whether that would have been in a head coaching or assistant coaching role.
However, with Kaze and Ben Youssef now gone and a new coach expected to arrive, the incoming coach is likely to bring his own technical team.
All indications continue to point towards former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane, who has also been linked with the Bafana Bafana job as a possible successor to Hugo Broos.
