Chiefs Appoint New Goalkeeper Coach

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the appointment of Olivier Sorin as the club’s new goalkeeper coach.
The position at Amakhosi became vacant following the departure of Ilyes Mzoughi, who left Naturena at the end of last season after a two-year tenure. Mzoughi departed alongside Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, who served as co-coaches last term.
The trio has been replaced by Fernando da Cruz, who is now building his own technical team, starting with the arrival of the Frenchman, Sorin. Dillon Sheppard was added as the assistant coach.
According to a statement released by Chiefs, Sorin has trained some of the finest goalkeepers in world football.
“Kaizer Chiefs have appointed Olivier Sorin as the Club’s new goalkeeper coach. He has signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year,” said Chiefs in a statement.
“The former professional goalkeeper, now a seasoned coach, holds a UEFA Goalkeeper A Licence. Over the past decade, Sorin has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of several international goalkeepers, including Édouard Mendy, Steve Mandanda, and Doğan Alemdar, among many others.
“Born in France, Sorin has now arrived in South Africa to join the Amakhosi technical team, which will be led by newly appointed head coach Fernando da Cruz.”
