Ouaddou Prepares New-Look Pirates For Massive Cádiz Clash in Spain

Orlando Pirates continue their pre-season tour of Spain with a friendly clash against Segunda División side Cádiz at the Marbella Football Center tonight. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:45.
The encounter forms a vital part of the Buccaneers’ preparations for the 2026/27 campaign. Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is using the trip to assess his squad and fine-tune his tactical approach ahead of a demanding five-competition season.
Pirates head into the fixture after opening their Spanish training camp with a 1-1 draw against Córdoba, where Boitumelo Radiopane came off the bench to score a late equalizer.
The clash with Cádiz offers another key opportunity for Ouaddou to evaluate his options, with several new signings and academy graduates looking to stake their claim for regular places.
Defender Sbangani Zulu, winger Ghampani Lungu, Neo Rapoo, and Bohlale Ngwato all featured in the opening friendly, while academy product Mpho Padime impressed with a confident display. Midfielder Matome Mmolai could make his unofficial debut, while experienced stars captain Nkosinathi Sibisi, Oswin Appollis, and Thalente Mbatha are expected to feature after missing the previous match.
Cádiz, meanwhile, are playing their first pre-season fixture. The Spanish outfit aims to build fitness and momentum after narrowly avoiding relegation from the Segunda División last season.
The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport Variety 4 (Channel 209) and Pirates TV on YouTube, with live updates available across the club’s official social media platforms.
