Venue Crisis Deepens: Chippa vs Sundowns Can’t Play At Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium

Chippa United have confirmed that their match against Mamelodi Sundowns, scheduled to be played at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, will not take place there as the venue is not ready for football.
Chippa stated that the stadium has not been passed fit by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and, as a result, they have applied to move the fixture to Buffalo City Stadium in East London.
The Chilli Boys have faced persistent venue issues in the Eastern Cape, previously hosting Orlando Pirates at Kings Park Stadium and Richards Bay at Dobsonville Stadium.
Currently sitting 12th in the standings, Chippa have recorded four draws and one loss, earning four points from their opening five matches. This past weekend, Chippa played to a goalless draw against Milford FC at Buffalo City Stadium.
Due to Eastern Cape venue closures, Chippa United have traveled over 2,500 km for designated “home” matches this season across Durban, Soweto, and East London.
