AmaZulu Complete Striker Signing

As previously reported by Sportswire, AmaZulu have confirmed the signing of Mason Mushore from Zimbabwean side Highlanders FC.

This publication earlier revealed that Mushore was set to join Usuthu during the January transfer window, with contractual terms between the player and the club already agreed.

The 23-year-old had attracted interest from several clubs in South Africa, Europe and Zimbabwe, but has opted to make AmaZulu his next destination.

With the transfer now completed, Mushore will be reunited with his compatriot Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who joined the Durban-based club in July.

Ngwenya has settled in well at AmaZulu, emerging as the team’s leading goalscorer in the early stages of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, with four goals in 12 appearances.

However, the striker suffered an injury during AmaZulu’s Carling Knockout Round of 16 defeat to Magesi FC shortly before the FIFA international break.

As a result, Ngwenya missed Zimbabwe’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bafana Bafana and Lesotho, although he was named on the bench for the match against Likuena.

AmaZulu, who sit fifth on the Betway Premiership standings with 24 points from 14 matches, will return to action after the Africa Cup of Nations when they host TS Galaxy at Princess Magogo Stadium on 25 January.
