Arrows Set To Part Ways With Khenyeza

Golden Arrows is set to part ways with co-coach Mabhuti Khenyeza, Sportswire has been informed.
Arrows’ 3-2 win over Cape Town City this past weekend is set to be Khenyeza’s last game in charge as the club co-coach.
Sources indicate that tensions between Khenyeza and players are the reason why there is set to be a departure of Khenyeza. The 42-year-old coach has a long history with Arrows, having played for the club and serving in various coaching roles.
He helped them regain promotion in the 2014/15 season under coach Shaun Bartlett.
After returning to the PSL top flight in the following season, Khenyeza then left in the second half of the season as he didn’t get along with coach Clinton Larsen, who had taken the helm.
Khenyeza then had a stint with Maritzburg United (now Durban City) as assistant coach in the 2018/19 season under Muhsin Ertugral, AmaZulu in the 2019/20 season as well as DStv Diski coach at TS Galaxy. He then returned to Arrows in October 2020.
He was the assistant under Mandla Ncikazi in the 2020/21 season when the club finished in fourth position. At the end of that season, Ncikazi however abruptly left to join Orlando Pirates.
Khenyeza remained as the assistant to work with the newly appointed Lehlohonolo Seema. However, Seema’s tenure lasted only a couple of months before he was fired in March 2022.
Khenyeza and Vusi Vilakazi were then appointed in caretaker role to lead the side until the end of that season.
They were appointed as co-coaches last term, but Vilakazi left in September last year with Khenyeza remaining on at the club as a coach before coach Steve Komphela was appointed.
Komphela lasted just one season and returned to Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the season after the departure of Rulani Mokwena. Khenyeza was given a shared role yet again as a co-coach alongside Musa Bilankulu. The club then added their former captain Kagiso Dikgacoi recently to work as a trio of coaches.
Some players at Arrows have been impressed by the training methods of Dikgacoi, who played at the highest level such as Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Cardiff City in the UK. Dikgacoi is now poised to take on a more prominent role alongside Bilankulu.
