Cele: Arrows Will Pose A Tough Challenge

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabo Cele acknowledges the challenge Golden Arrows presents, as he is aware of their January defeat and emphasizes their consistent competitiveness.
The Amakhosi are set to face Abafana Bes’thende in a Betway Premiership clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 15:30.
This encounter marks the second round between the rivals, following Arrows’ 1-0 victory over Chiefs at the same venue in January.
Speaking ahead of the match, Cele anticipates a difficult game for Amakhosi. “It’s a difficult match like any other match because we are who we are,” Cele stated.
“So, when people are playing against us, we know it’s going to be a difficult game. Arrows is a good team, but I feel like we are ready for it.
“We focus on ourselves more, respect them and the most important thing is to try and apply the things that we were working on throughout the week. Eventually, we need to come out in the game with the three points that we need so much.”
Cele also noted the impact of Manqoba Mngqithi’s arrival at Arrows, making them more threatening in possession.
“Well, I think Golden Arrows has always been a competitive team, and even now with a new changes in their coaching staff they are becoming a more possession based team,” he added.
“They keep the ball, and that’s always dangerous because those teams, they can become patient, and then they find space.
“So, we have to be aware of that, and at the same time, we have to focus on our game because that’s more important, and it all depends on us.”
Chiefs currently occupy eighth place in the Betway Premiership with 29 points from 22 matches. Arrows are 10th, with 24 points from 19 games.
