Marumo Gallants’ friendly match, the CUFA Cup, against Kaizer Chiefs will proceed as scheduled on Sunday after resolving a contractual dispute.

The game, originally slated for Toyota Stadium (15:00), was in jeopardy due to the disagreement. However, both parties have reached an agreement, ensuring the match will take place in Bloemfontein.

“Marumo Gallants FC and C-Squared Group have confirmed that the game between Gallants and Chiefs will continue as planned today. Both parties would like to apologize to all stakeholders for the inconvenience caused and ask supporters and fans to come to the Toyota Stadium in large numbers,” Gallants stated.

The club also announced a curtain-raiser match between local sides Manguang United and D’General.

Both Gallants and Chiefs were taking advantage of the FIFA break due to the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where Bafana Bafana secured a 5-0 victory over Congo at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday.

The two teams previously met at Toyota Stadium in the opening league game of the 2024/25 season, with Chiefs overcoming a deficit to win 2-1.
