Congo Tops Bafana Bafana’s AFCON Qualifying Group
Congo has claimed the top spot in Group K of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, defeating South Sudan 1-0 in Brazzaville on Thursday night.
Chandrel Massanga, who plays for Hatayspor in Turkey, scored the winning goal in the 12th minute.
Bafana Bafana has an opportunity to overtake Congo if they can defeat Uganda with more than one goal in their upcoming match at Orlando Stadium on Friday (18:00).
Hugo Broos’ team, which finished third in the recent Africa Cup of Nations, will also face South Sudan in Juba Stadium on Tuesday.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, to be held in Morocco, is scheduled for December next year until January 2026.
