Costa: I’m Happy To Be Back At Sundowns Despite Exit Talk

Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Lucas Riberio Costa has urged the fans to come out in large numbers to support them for their MTN8 quarter-final game against Richards Bay, acknowledging the significance of the game.

Sundowns will open their campaign against The Natal Rich Boys at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.

This marks Richards Bay’s debut in this tournament, while the Brazilians have won this competition four times and are aiming for the fifth title.

Riberio has emphasized the significance of this game, therefore urged the supporters to come out in their numbers, as they’ve done so in the previous season.

“Very important game; support us, please give everything because you gave everything last season,” said Riberio

“So, push the guys, the players on the pitch, it’s very, very important. It’s a good game on Sunday, so Masandawana, please, help the team and push the team for the win in this game.”

Furthermore, the 2024/24 PSL Footballer of the Season was reported to have attracted interest from several clubs, following his impressive performance at the FIFA Club World Cup, and he reportedly left the training camp in Rustenburg on Saturday to conclude those potential transfers.

However, the left footer has confirmed that he’s back at training and is excited to be back.

“Training today (on Thursday) was good. I’m very happy to be at training. I’m back for training for my team and happy to see the players and the coaches,” said Riberio.

“So I’m very happy to be training.”
