Dladla Leaves Durban City Amidst Interest Elsewhere

Durban City coach Simo Dladla has left the club with immediate effect, with a Sportswire source indicating suspicion that he may have been approached by another team.
Farpost initially reported Dladla’s departure from City on Wednesday. Dladla successfully led the team to promotion to the Betway Premiership at the end of last season.
According to a source close to the club, Dladla’s behavior during negotiations over the past 10 days raised suspicions. “The negotiations were very simple, but it just seemed that he had something else somewhere,” the source stated, adding, “I smell a rat.” However, the source also acknowledged, “I could be wrong in our assumptions.”
Dladla took over from Zipho Dlangalala during the 2023/24 season. His future with City had been uncertain, with numerous rumors circulating that something was likely to happen one way or another.
Sportswire also learned that Durban City had shown interest in the new Orlando Pirates coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, who was appointed on Monday.
Durban City, rebranded from Maritzburg United at the start of last season before securing their promotion by winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship, has been left unimpressed by Dladla’s actions at the crucial time of the pre-season.
It remains to be seen who will take the helm at Durban City before the start of the new 2025/26 season in August.
