Dolly Signs For City In Promotion Push

Cape Town City has confirmed the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Keagan Dolly.
The 32-year-old was a free agent after leaving TS Galaxy at the end of last season.
Dolly’s time at TS Galaxy was brief, lasting only one season after he was released by Kaizer Chiefs at the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign.
While unattached, he was part of the Bafana Bafana CHAN team under coach Molefi Ntseki, which was eliminated in the group stages in East Africa. Upon his return to South Africa, he began his search for a new club, and Cape Town City has now officially announced his signing.
Reuniting with a familiar face, this move sees Dolly reuniting with City boss John Comitis. Comitis was part of the management at Cape Town Spurs when Dolly first emerged as a talent before his transfer to Sundowns for the 2015/16 season.
At Sundowns, Dolly achieved significant success, winning the league title, the Carling Knockout, and the CAF Champions League before moving to France to join Montpellier in January 2017.
He later returned to South Africa to join Chiefs ahead of the 2021/22 season. His three seasons with Chiefs were unfortunately marked by injuries. He played in 67 matches across all competitions, contributing 14 goals and 11 assists..
City, which was relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season via the PSL promotion/relegation playoffs, is currently rebuilding its squad to compete for promotion back to the top flight. The acquisition of an experienced player like Dolly is a key part of that effort.
