Chiefs vs. Sundowns To Be Watched By Over 70000 Fans
Kaizer Chiefs has announced that the initial 60,000 tickets for their highly anticipated match against Mamelodi Sundowns have been sold.
Due to the high demand, the club has released an additional 15,000 tickets for the match at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
In a statement, Chiefs confirmed the news, “The initial 60,000 tickets for the match have been sold out! Following careful consideration and a consultation process with relevant stakeholders, we are pleased to release an additional 15,000 tickets for sale.”
The club also provided important details for match day:
- Gates will open at 16:30. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid delays.
- No tickets will be sold at the stadium on match day. All tickets must be purchased in advance.
This blockbuster clash pits second-place Chiefs against fourth-place Sundowns. Chiefs is coming into the game in excellent form, having won all three of their opening matches without conceding a single goal. This is the first time they have achieved such a start since the 2014/15 season, a year in which they ultimately won the league title.
Meanwhile, Sundowns, who have won the league for the past eight consecutive seasons, will be looking to bounce back from a recent defeat. They are currently fourth on the table with seven points from three matches and are coming off a loss to their rivals, Orlando Pirates, in the MTN8 semi-final on Saturday.
