Dove Set To Leave Chiefs For Gulf Country Adventure

Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove is set to depart the club at the end of the season, bringing an end to his three-year tenure at Naturena.
According to his new agency, Mir Sport, negotiations for a contract renewal at Chiefs have not commenced, but a new team in the Gulf region has been secured for the Mozambican international.
The specifics of the team and country remain under wraps for now, with Mir Sport opting to keep the details confidential. However, it’s understood that Dove will join his new club at the end of the season.
The Gulf region’s appeal lies in its substantial salaries and relatively relaxed age restrictions, making it an attractive destination for players in their 30s.
At 30 years old, Dove’s agency believes this move will provide him with a fresh start and financial security.
Dove’s time at Amakhosi has been notable, particularly in helping the club win the Nedbank Cup in 2025 against Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, ending a 10-year trophy drought.
The former Cape Town City defender signed a two-year deal with the Chiefs in 2022, which ended last season. The deal included an option for a one-year extension, which was exercised for the 2024/25 season.
This season has been challenging for Dove, who suffered an injury during the pre-season and has played only eight league games since his recovery.
Mir Sport also manages other notable players, including Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana and former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.
Dove’s departure will likely see Amakhosi searching for a suitable replacement to bolster their defense.
