Five Leave Galaxy, Targets New Signings

TS Galaxy has released five players ahead of the next season. Goalkeeper Vasilije Kolak and attacking midfielder Higor Vidal are among those released.
Veterans Vuyo Mere and Bernard Parker are also leaving the club. Galaxy offered both players the opportunity to participate in the DStv Diski Challenge next season, but discussions haven’t yielded a clear outcome. Sportswire reports that both Mere and Parker have ultimately left the club.
Lehlohonolo Mojela has been transferred to Stellenbosch FC.
Mere, the PSL’s longest-serving player last season with over 20 years of experience, saw limited action, appearing only in the Nedbank Cup encounter against D’General.
Parker’s season was cut short by a broken foot injury sustained against Mamelodi Sundowns in October. He made a brief return against the same team in April but missed the remaining matches. He finishes with just 11 appearances across all competitions.
Kolak, signed from Bosnia’s Krupa na Vrbasu in 2021, primarily served as a backup to Rwandan international Fiacre Ntwari, who solidified his starting role after Melusi Buthelezi’s departure to Orlando Pirates.
Despite these departures, Galaxy is actively seeking reinforcements. Victor Letsoalo, recently released by AmaZulu, is close to signing with the club. Talks are also ongoing with Siphesihle Maduna, formerly of Cape Town Spurs.
These moves signal a squad overhaul for Galaxy after their most successful PSL season to date. They finished sixth and reached the Carling Knockout final before falling to Stellenbosch.
