Gallants Coach Shows Empathy for Struggling Nabi

Marumo Gallants coach Abdeslam Ouaddou expressed sympathy for Kaizer Chiefs coach Nassredine Nabi, acknowledging the challenges the Tunisian faces with Amakhosi.
This was after Gallants beat Amakhosi 2-1 in the Betway Premiership match at FNB Stadium on Saturday. The win was fueled by Trevor Mathiane and Daniel Msendami’s goals, while Glody Lilepo scored the only goal for Chiefs.
“I know tonight is a very difficult night for my colleague, Nabi,” Ouaddou said.
Ouaddou also praised Nabi’s reputation as a renowned coach in Africa, highlighting his achievements in Morocco.
“I think in football, it’s about projects, sometimes you need time to settle your ideas, your game model,” Ouaddou added, suggesting that Nabi’s struggles are part of the coaching journey.
The former AS Vita coach emphasized his respect for Nabi, saying, “I believe he’s one of the best coaches in Africa.”
Ouaddou’s comments show empathy and admiration for expertise, despite the current difficulties Chiefs are facing under his leadership.

With two games remaining against Chippa United and Magesi, Gallants aim to finish the season on a high note. Currently sitting in 10th position with 30 points, Ouaddou emphasized the importance of moving forward.
“Now we need to move forward, we still have two matches to play, and it’s six points to take. I think we can finish the season well,” he said.
Ouaddou also revealed plans to reassess and set new targets for the club and players. “Believe me and my staff, we are going to fix and set a second target and goal for the club and players.”
With a focus on the future, Ouaddou’s comments suggest that Gallants are determined to end the season positively, building on the momentum from their win over Chiefs.
