Larsen Silent On Near-Miss AmaZulu Job

Magesi FC coach Clinton Larsen has declined to comment on speculation linking him to the vacant AmaZulu coaching position.
Reports suggested that Usuthu had been in talks with Larsen, but negotiations stalled due to his insistence on bringing his own technical team. As a result, AmaZulu opted to promote Vusi Vilakazi and Arthur Zwane to the head coach roles.
When asked about the AmaZulu opportunity after Magesi’s semi-final victory over Richards Bay in the Carling Knockout Cup, Larsen remained tight-lipped. “I have nothing to say about AmaZulu,” he stated.
Magesi’s impressive run in the competition has seen them eliminate Orlando Pirates, TS Galaxy, and Richards Bay. They will now face Mamelodi Sundowns in the final at Toyota Stadium on 23 November.
Larsen, who previously led Bloemfontein Celtic to a Telkom Knockout victory over Sundowns in the 2012/13 season when the competition was known as Telkom Knockout at the time, expressed his desire to avoid a showdown with the African giants before they beat Marumo Gallants in their semi-final on Sunday.
“Nobody wants to play Sundowns, let’s be honest,” he said. “Hopefully, it will be a déjà vu moment.”
