Le Roux Praises “Family” Atmosphere In National Squad
IFK Värnamo midfielder Luke Le Roux has openly admired the strong sense of unity within the Bafana Bafana squad, both on and off the field.
He emphasizes that the national team operates like a family, a dynamic he’s proud to be a part of.
Le Roux, who made an appearance as a second-half substitute in last Friday’s goalless friendly against Tanzania at Peter Mokaba Stadium, highlighted the current positive momentum within the South African national football team.
The new-look Bafana Bafana squad is set to play their second friendly match against Mozambique at the same venue on Tuesday [19:30].
This fixture provides another opportunity for fans to see the fresh talent integrated into the team.
“Look, as you can see probably from the outside as well, that Bafana Bafana is doing well at the moment and that’s not only on the pitch,” said Le Roux.
“You can see we’re family off the pitch as well, and that’s nice to see and nice to be part of.”
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has added a few new players to his squad after not selecting his regular players from Mamelodi Sundowns due to FIFA Club World Cup commitments.
Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Mohau Nkota, Simphiwe Selepe, Deano Van Rooyen, Khulumani Ndamane, and Samkelo Kabini are among the players who were called up to the national team for the first time. Le Roux advised them that they should do their best, as they’ve also been told when they first joined the squad.
“But like we have told the new players that came, that’s what we’ve been told when we came the first time. Just do your best and the rest will take care of itself,” Le Roux stated.
