Administrator Mazwi Mkhize was re-elected as SAFA eThekwini president following the electoral congress held at the Garden Court on Saturday.
The elections, which were conducted behind closed doors without media presence, saw Mkhize defeat his rival Madoda Mnomiya.
Of the 22 Local Football Associations (LFAs) in eThekwini, 21 were eligible to vote, as Pinetown LFA was expelled due to inactivity.
Among the 21 voting LFAs, Mkhize secured 18 votes, while Mnomiya received three.
According to a Sportswire source, the elections were conducted smoothly, with no disputes or disruptions.
Former Athletics South Africa president Aleck Skhosana, who also served on the Local Organising Committee for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, was in attendance as an overseer of the elections.
This marks Mkhize’s second term as eThekwini SAFA president, having first been elected in December 2021.
In addition to the election of the president, two vice presidents were elected: Desmon Ganasan and Mlungisi Hlophe.
For the female vice president position, Jabu Luthuli was elected.
Zama Buthelezi was returned unopposed as secretary general, while Nhlakanipho Mkhize was also uncontested in retaining the treasurer position.
Shane Malan had intended to contest the treasurer role, but SAFA upheld its regulations, ruling him ineligible as Pinetown LFA, where he serves as president, is inactive and not in good standing.
