Mokoena Warns Of Tough Test Against Sekhukhune

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena has acknowledged the tough challenge that awaits the defending champions in their Betway Premiership clash against Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.
Sundowns have travelled to New Peter Mokaba Stadium to face Babina Noko, where they will be aiming to extend their lead at the top of the league standings.
The Brazilians currently sit top of the Betway Premiership table with 29 points from 15 matches, as they continue their push to defend the league title.
However, Sundowns have been dealt a blow ahead of the encounter, with influential midfielder Teboho Mokoena suspended and set to miss the match. The Bafana Bafana international has been one of the club’s key performers this season and his absence will be felt in midfield.
Despite this, Mokoena believes Sundowns can come away with a positive result if they match Sekhukhune United’s intensity and hunger.
“We’re excited and looking forward to the game. We know it’s an important game for the team and also for morale. It’s going to help us going forward into the Champions League game,” he said.
“It won’t be an easy game for us, but if we can show up and match their hunger and our quality, for sure, we will surface.”
Mokoena added that the team remains focused and disciplined despite being aware of their position on the log.
“We take one game at a time. Of course, we are aware of the log standings, but we just take it one game at a time,” Mokoena added.
