Moses Mabhida Stadium To Host Nedbank Cup Final

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that Moses Mabhida Stadium will host the Nedbank Cup final on 10 May.
The final will be contested by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates next month.
This confirmation follows Kaizer Chiefs’ 2-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Orlando Pirates secured their place in the final earlier on Sunday with a 1-0 win against Marumo Gallants at Orlando Stadium.
The final will be a repeat of the 2006 Absa Cup final, where Kaizer Chiefs defeated Orlando Pirates on penalties.
The last time these two sides met at the Durban venue was when Kaizer Chiefs defeated Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the MTN8 final during the 2014/15 season.
The last time the stadium hosted a Nedbank Cup final was between Chiefs and TS Galaxy, with the latter winning that game by 1-0 via the penalty strike from Zakhele Lepasa.
Moses Mabhida Stadium is hosting the second cup final this season. They hosted the MTN8 last year October, with Pirates winning by 3-1 against Stellenbosch. This will be Pirates’ 11th final at the Durban iconic venue.
