Motaung Sets Sights On Greatness For Chiefs Next Season

Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, has outlined her main objectives for the upcoming season, emphasizing the need for greatness and a strong support system from the fans.

As Amakhosi embark on their preseason preparations, Motaung’s vision for the team is clear: to reclaim their rightful place in South African and African football.

“For me, I always wish Chiefs for greatness in every season,” Motaung said.

“We need to achieve greatness that we deserve and take the right place in South African and African football.”

This ambition is fueled by the team’s recent success in winning the Nedbank Cup, a feeling that Motaung described as “incredible” and something they aim to replicate in the future.

The upcoming season promises to be an exciting one for Amakhosi, with the team set to compete in multiple tournaments, including the CAF Confederation Cup, Betway

Premiership, Carling Knockout, and the Nedbank Cup. 

As they prepare for the challenges ahead, Motaung stressed the importance of fan support.

“I think what’s important is that our supporters come with us on the journey and make sure that they support us,” she said.

Motaung’s vision for the team is one of competitiveness and hunger for success.

“So, next season I want to see Chiefs that is very competitive and hungry for the next level and make sure that they take a place in South African and African football,” she added.

With preseason already underway, Chiefs will travel to the Netherlands in July for a preseason tour, further fine-tuning their preparations for the upcoming season.

Last season’s Nedbank Cup win was a highlight for the 2014/15 South African champions, but they fell short of finishing in the top eight in the league.
