Nabi Urges Chiefs Players To Bounce Back

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi acknowledged his players’ disappointment following their 2-1 loss to Marumo Gallants at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

This was the Chiefs’ 11th loss of the season in the Betway Premiership, and the last time they tasted a victory in the league was on March 4th against Magesi at FNB Stadium.

“We indeed talked with the players because, after such a difficult position we are in after today’s game, you see that everybody is down and there is a lack of confidence,” Nabi said.

The loss has seen Chiefs drop out of the top eight, currently sitting in ninth place with 30 points.

Nabi emphasized the importance of moving forward, focusing on the upcoming crucial matches.

“We have two very important games ahead of us that can still save our season. The derby is coming next weekend, and there’s the final of the Nedbank Cup.”

Nabi encouraged his players to reflect on their performances and stick together.

“Everyone needs to assess themselves with honesty and look at how he does in training and during games, and then we need to stick together and go into this coming week of preparation with our heads up.”

The former AS FAR coach discouraged blame and regret, instead emphasizing the need for unity and a positive mindset.

The derby against Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium on May 3rd will be a significant test, followed by the Nedbank Cup final against the same opponent at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Nabi’s message to his players is clear: regroup, refocus, and aim for a strong finish to the season. With the right approach, Chiefs can still salvage their campaign and bring silverware to the club.
