Ncikazi Exudes Confidence Ahead Of Chippa Clash

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi is confident that the Buccaneers will secure a win in their Betway Premiership match against Chippa United at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Buccaneers are looking to build on their impressive form, having won their last five league games, including a 3-1 victory over Golden Arrows on 5 November.

According to Ncikazi, the team has prepared well for the match, and he’s confident they can secure the three points.

“The expectations are always similar, Pirates must win,” Ncikazi said.

“I think we’ve prepared well, we’re ready to perform, and the battle for the three points is an important part for us.

“I’m sure with everything that has happened and the rise from the team, a well-deserved rest while we were preparing – I think we’re ready to get the three points.”

This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season, with Pirates emerging victorious in their previous encounter in Gqeberha.

The Buccaneers are currently second on the log with 22 points from 10 games, while Chippa United sit at the bottom with only one victory this season.

A win for Pirates will see them tied with log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on 25 points, but they’ll need to win by more than four goals to take the top spot due to Sundowns’ superior goal difference. They will still have a game in hand. 

Pirates have been in good form, having won their semifinal match against Richards Bay in the Carling Knockout on 8 November in their last game.

Ncikazi’s men are looking to continue their winning streak and make a statement against the struggling Chili Boys.
