Ndamane Set For Sundowns Move

TS Galaxy defender Khulumane Ndamane is expected to join Mamelodi Sundowns in the coming days, Sportswire has learnt.

Ndamane was signed by Sundowns at the start of the season but remained on loan at TS Galaxy for the first half of the campaign.

Speculation over his imminent move intensified after he was left out of Galaxy’s 1-0 Betway Premiership defeat to Sundowns, prompting belief that he was already on his way to Chloorkop.

With Sundowns chasing Orlando Pirates in the Betway Premiership — trailing by two points after 13 matches — the club has moved swiftly to bring the Bafana Bafana defender on board as the second half of the season resumes later this month.

Ndamane was part of South Africa’s squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which ended in disappointment after a round-of-16 exit to Cameroon on Sunday.

Although the KwaZulu-Natal-born defender did not feature in any of Bafana Bafana’s four matches at the tournament, he remains firmly in head coach Hugo Broos’ plans.

The former Kaizer Chiefs academy product previously impressed in Bafana Bafana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying victory over Rwanda in October, deputising for the suspended Mbekezeli Mbokazi. Ndamane delivered a composed performance as South Africa secured a convincing 3-0 win.

Since joining TS Galaxy at the start of last season after his departure from Chiefs, Ndamane has made 42 appearances in all competitions, registering two assists.

Ndamane will become the second player born in Sahlumbe, KwaZulu-Natal, to play for Sundowns, following in the footsteps of Diyo Sibisi.

He will be hoping to make his Sundowns debut when the reigning champions host Orbit College in a Betway Premiership fixture at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on 19 January.

That match will take place a day after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations concludes in Morocco on 18 January.
