Sundowns Confirm Signing Of Bafana Defender From Galaxy

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the signing of Khulumane Ndamane from TS Galaxy during the January transfer window, further underlining their spending power.
Sportswire had previously revealed on Friday that Ndamane was set to join Sundowns from Galaxy, having initially been signed during the off-season. However, the defender remained with Galaxy for the first half of the season before now being recalled to strengthen Sundowns’ defence ahead of the league’s resumption.
Speculation over his move intensified late last year after Ndamane was left out of TS Galaxy’s 1-0 Betway Premiership defeat to Sundowns, fuelling belief that he was already on his way to Chloorkop.
Ndamane was part of South Africa’s squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which ended in disappointment following a round-of-16 exit to Cameroon nearly two weeks ago.
Although the KwaZulu-Natal-born defender did not feature in any of Bafana Bafana’s four matches at the tournament, he remains firmly in the plans of head coach Hugo Broos.
Ndamane becomes Sundowns’ third signing of the January window, following the arrivals of Brayan León from Independiente Medellín in Colombia and Monnapule Saleng.
Since joining Galaxy at the start of last season after his departure from Kaizer Chiefs, Ndamane has made 42 appearances in all competitions, registering two assists.
He also becomes the second player born in Sahlumbe, KwaZulu-Natal, to represent Sundowns, following in the footsteps of Diyo Sibisi.
Ndamane will be hoping to make his debut for the reigning champions when they host Orbit College in a Betway Premiership fixture at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on 19 January.
The match will take place a day after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations concludes in Morocco on 18 January.
