Sundowns Sign Saleng
Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the surprise signing of Monnapule Saleng.
Saleng was loaned out by Orlando Pirates to Orbit College in the first half of the season after falling out of favour with former coach Jose Riveiro.
With issues between the player and the club unresolved, Pirates opted to send him to Orbit College, and it remained unclear whether he would return to the Buccaneers.
However, Saleng has now completed a move to Sundowns, although it is not yet known how much the transfer fee was paid to Pirates.
Sundowns have been tracking Saleng for some time, making the move less surprising than it initially appeared.
The winger has previously troubled Sundowns during his time at Pirates, most notably scoring twice in the semi-final of the 2022/23 MTN8. That result ultimately led to the appointment of Rulani Mokwena as Sundowns’ head coach.
