New Boss Ben Youssef Swings The Axe At Durban City After Historic Season
Durban City have confirmed the departure of nine players following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, with five loanees returning to their parent clubs and four others departing upon the expiry of their contracts.
Terrence Mashego has returned to Mamelodi Sundowns following his season-long loan spell. Similarly, Taahir Goedeman (Cape Town City), alongside Ronaldo Maarman and Siphiwe Mahlangu (both Sekhukhune United), have also headed back to their respective parent clubs.
Meanwhile, Falakhe Tshanini, Odwa Nyulu, Joslin Kamatuka, Onele Rulwana, and Lindokuhle Chonco have officially parted ways with the club after their contracts were not renewed.
These sweeping squad changes come under the direction of newly appointed head coach Khalil Ben Youssef. The former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach steps in to replace Pitso Dladla.
Dladla, alongside this departing core, orchestrated a historic campaign for the club last season. In what was Durban City’s debut season in the top flight, they sensationally clinched the Nedbank Cup title and secured a coveted top-eight finish in the Betway Premiership.
